ALSIM is pleased to announce the sale of an ALX (Single Engine Piston, Single Engine Piston Complex, Multi Engine Piston, and Light Jet) to Malaysian Flying Academy, a flight school located in Melaka, Malaysia.
Captain Stephen Michael Terry, Malaysian Flying Academy’s Principal, explains why their school finally selected ALSIM’s ALX: “We decided to choose Alsim’s ALX based on value for money and the standard of the cockpit equipment. MFA is committed to raising the standards of the cadet pilots it graduates year on year.”
About Malaysian Flying Academy
We are a leading tertiary institution fully approved and accredited by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) and recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Our location adjacent to the Melaka International Airport with direct access to the runway, allows our cadets to be exposed to real life experiences of a fully operational airport environment. We are committed to ensuring that our cadets graduate with not just the right qualifications but also with the skills, character and aptitude essential for a successful career. Located about 90 km from the KL International Airport and less than 250 km from Singapore, Malacca is conveniently located for students planning to enroll with us from overseas.
MFA was established in 1983 and was originally located at the Simpang Airport in Kuala Lumpur. It moved to its base in Melaka in 1987. In 2009 we moved into our purpose-built Academy which is located next to the airport and which has direct links to the runway. The Academy can train up to 180 cadet pilots at any time and has accommodation for all cadets on campus. We operate a fleet of 20 Piper aircraft, Seminoles and Archers. MFA is the oldest flight training school in Malaysia and has been in operation for the past 35 years.
MFA is acknowledged as the first tertiary institution in Malaysia to adopt the new European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) electronic examinations as part of its syllabus.
