Sky Wings Aviation Academy placed its first AL200 MCC FTD into service
06 October 2005

On September, 27th, 2005, Sky Wings Aviation Academy, placed its first Alsim AL200 MCC Flight Training Device (FTD) into service. Sky Wings Academy is located at the Red Deer Industrial Airport in Penhold, Alberta, Canada.

Sky Wings Aviation Academy was Alsim's first North American customer. In choosing the Alsim AL200 MCC, Sky Wings Aviation Academy, is the only Academy in Western Canada, that offers a Flight Training Device capable of turboprop training.

Dennis Cooper, Sky Wings CEO, with 30 years experience in aviation, evaluated flight trainers from Alsim's competitors. He chose Alsim's AL200 MCC because he was impressed by its, "...superior flight parameters and very crisp visuals." According to Dennis Cooper, "Thanks to its dual controls, the AL200 MCC, is the only Flight Training Device (FTD) in its category that allows; multi crew coordination training; offers a 180 degree visual display; provides turboprop aircraft training and has spinning capability."

Sky Wings is committed to offering its students the best training device and chose Alsim's AL200 MCC because of the realistic feel of its air craft flight controls; its easy reconfiguration to different aircraft types and its outstanding visual system.

Sherry Cooper, Sky Wings Director of Student Services and Chief Flight Instructor noted, "Using the Alsim Flight Training Device, is much more cost efficient. It is a tremendous help in reducing the ever increasing costs, of ab initio training in an environment of spiraling fuel prices."

Jean-Paul Monnin, points out that, "At capacity, with rates ranging from $100.00 an hour, for a Cessna 172 single piston engine, to $190.00 for a Beechcraft King Air B200 twin turboprop, the AL200 MCC (FTD) gives a payback time of under four years."

The school benefits because it can substantially increase the number of students it trains, without having to purchase additional aircraft. Moreover, Alsim's Flight Training Device features much lower operating costs, because the Flight Training Device is not affected by the rising prices of insurance and fuel.

Emergency Procedures:
Alsim's AL200 MCC Flight Training Device, allows students to practice
potentially dangerous procedures in 'complete safety', and makes
actual aircraft time, much more effective.
