"On the 3rd of December in the new building of the “Centro Addestramento Equipaggi ” (Aircrew Training Center) of the 14° Wing based in the Airport of Pratica di Mare (Rome) the new Italian Air Force Multicrew Aircrew Training Center has been officially opened.
The Multicrew Aircrew Training Center will train the new military pilots coming from the Italian Air Force Academy that will be employed on Multicrew Multiengine airplane like Boeing 767, Airbus 319, C-130J, C27J, Falcon 900, Piaggio P-180, Breguet Atlantique and many more.
This special school will also train expert pilots coming from fighter jets and transitioning to the above mentioned airplanes.
For this special occasion 3 Star General Pollice, chief of Major Command “Squadra Aerea” and 3 Star General Gargini chief of Major Command “Comando delle Scuole” of the Italian Air Force were present among many other military and civilian distinguished guests.
This school has been appointed as an Excellence Center in which the Italian Air Force is investing, even in this economical critical periods, for his peculiar objective: to enhance flight safety, standardize training and increase operational effectiveness while saving on real flying training costs."
