An ALX trainer in western Africa

30 October 2009

For the first time, Alsim is landing in West Africa !

Nigeria is located in western Africa on the Gulf of Guinea. It is the most populated country of the African continent and the world's 32nd-largest country. Nigeria has abundant supply of resources, well-developed financial, legal, communications and transport sectors with 18 airlines.

The school of state Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in ZARIA, which has the primary responsibility of producing trained personnel - Pilots, Airline Cabin Crew, and Flight Operations Officers/Dispatchers for the Civil Aviation Industry has chosen the ALX to train its pilots.

The Rector/Chief Executive of the institution, Capt Adebayo Araba said to Nigerian Daily Sun news :

"I have been to the company myself, I have seen their factory. We are getting the simulator from them. And we can be sure of 99.9 per cent reliability. It is part of the contract we signed with them and I don’t have any doubt in my mind.

Whether the weather is good whether the weather is bad the simulator is on. So, there is nothing lost with the student being here. So, the only thing the simulator is now going to do is to crash the time frame for the training from 70 weeks maybe to about 55 or 60 weeks now. That one definitely we are going to achieve, I can assure you.

The simulator is a multi-purpose one. We can use it as a single trainer, we can equally use as a multi-engine turbo- prop trainer and we can even use it as light-wing jet trainer. So, it’s multi-purpose."
